SORRY, BUT I ONLY REMEMBERED DAISY AND NICK WERE COUSINS AFTER I FINISHED :(
Chapter 1: A Chance Encounter
Years had passed since the event-filled summer of Gatsby’s demise, and the world had moved on. Nick Carraway, having left the East-Coast, found his place working as a small newspaper editor in the quiet town of Winthrop, Washington.
Daisy Buchanan, however, continued to lead a tumultuous and unsatisfactory life. Filled with failed relationships, empty promises, and superficial riches, Daisy started to yearn for something genuine. From there she went on a search.
Daisy decided it was necessary to go backpacking (in her case, with a couple backpacks) and start looking at the world not through a superficial mind of the rich, but through the lens of a normal person on the journey to find herself.
It was a chance encounter at a small café in the cozy town of Monroe, Washington where Nick and Daisy’s lives once again intercepted. Nick, who traveled to the town over to visit his favorite café, looked up from his thoughts for his eyes to collide with none other than Daisy Fay Buchanan.
Daisy visibly paused for a sec, astonishment covering her dimmed complexion reminiscent of the wear of time but did nothing to mask her charm. Seeing a person of her past was like bringing back the part of Long Island she decided to leave behind. Nonetheless, she couldn’t ignore the way she was drawn to Nick.
It felt as though time had stood still as memories, both beautiful and painful, rushed back into their hearts. As they looked at each other, they both knew this was different, they both knew they were ready and that this time, it was going to last.
I like how you added information that wasn't mentioned in the story and were creative by creating your own addition.
ReplyDeleteI really liked your use of imagery. For example, when you spoke about Monroe and added extra details to the setting. Great job!
ReplyDeleteI loved how the story flowed and how descriptive you were with everything. Nice
